SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Min (D-Irvine) announced two of his bills, Senate Bills (SB) 1080 and SB 1299, passed out of the Senate Committee on Education.  These bills will strengthen educational opportunities for both two-year and four-year degree seeking high school students.  As California’s workforce faces shortages of vocational and technology industry workers, these measures offer support to students.




COSTA MESA, CA — Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) announced the 37th Senate District’s Woman of the Year honoree, Michele Richards.  An Orange County resident, Richards serves as General Manager and CEO of OC Fair & Event Center where she oversees one of the largest fairgrounds in California.  The OC Fairgrounds hosts over 150 events a year, including entertainment at the world class Pacific Amphitheater, and attracts approximately 4.3 million guests annually.




Sacramento, CA — Today, Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine), along with bill sponsor Stop AAPI Hate, announced the introduction of legislation to require California’s 10 largest transit districts to recognize street harassment as a rider safety concern and create data-driven solutions based on the ridership experiences of women and other vulnerable communities on public transit systems.




SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Min (D-Irvine) introduced new legislation to ban offshore drilling in the State of California, including oil production under current lease agreements. Min’s Senate Bill 953 fulfills his pledge for action in the wake of last year’s Orange County Oil Spill, which leaked nearly 25,000 gallons of crude oil just off the coast of Huntington Beach, shutting down beaches from Orange County to San Diego. This was the largest spill in California waters since the 2015 Refugio Beach oil spill off the coast of Santa Barbara.




SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) announced today the introduction of his Senate Bill (SB) 915, which would prohibit the sale of firearms or ammunition on state property, effectively ending gun shows on all public properties, including 73 state fairgrounds, across the State of California. The introduction of this bill follows the implementation of Senator Min’s SB 264, which prohibited the sale of firearms and ammunition at the Orange County Fair and Event Center.
