Senator Dave Min Names Kelly Jones New Communications Director

SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Min (D-Irvine) announced today that he has elevated Kelly Jones to be Communications Director. 

 

“Today, I am thrilled to announce a key staffing change that will make our incredible team even stronger, in 2022 and beyond,” Min said. “It is with great pride that I announce that Kelly Jones has been promoted to be my Communications Director. Kelly was one of my first hires after I was elected to the State Senate in 2020, and I am incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our office. With a career spanning from City Hall to the White House, Kelly brings incredible experience and an indefatigable passion for service to bear. During her time with us, she has done nothing but impress us with her leadership, her intelligence, and her work ethic. I am excited to see what Kelly will do in this role.” 
 

Kelly Jones will lead messaging strategy, press, and media relations as Communications Director. Most recently, Kelly consulted for top campaigns and served as District Director to Congresswoman Katie Porter. Prior to these roles she served as a Policy Director to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti focused on public safety initiatives with an emphasis on programs protecting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. A lifelong Californian, Kelly is an Orange County native and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fullerton.
