Senator Dave Min Issues Statement on Passage of 2021-22 Budget
Min highlights legislative efforts which resulted in this year’s strong budget
SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) released the following statement upon the State Legislature passing Assembly Bill (AB) 128 the 2021-22 budget bill:
“The California State Legislature just passed the 2021-22 budget bill,” Min said. “This is a bold, smart budget which helps the many Californians who are struggling right now due to the COVID-19 recession, while making strategic long-term investments in our state’s future.
“California’s economy is roaring back. Nearly 40 percent of new jobs in this country have been created in California this year, and the future looks bright. But our economic strength today is the result of our past investments in long-term priorities like education and infrastructure.
“We must continue to pay it forward by investing in our small businesses, in a 21st-century transportation and energy infrastructure, in quality education and affordable college and in fighting climate change. This budget does much of that, and I was proud to vote aye.”
Min is a member of the Budget Committee and subcommittee on Education. The budget bill now heads to the Governor and becomes law as soon as it receives his signature.
